త్వమేవ మాతా చ పితా త్వమేవ, త్వమేవ బంధుశ్చ సఖా త్వమేవ | త్వమేవ విద్యా ద్రవిణం త్వమేవ, త్వమేవ సర్వం మమ దేవదేవ ||

त्वमेव माता च पिता त्वमेव, त्वमेव बन्धुश्च सखा त्वमेव |

त्वमेव विद्या द्रविणं त्वमेव, त्वमेव सर्वं मम देवदेव ||

It is You that comes as the mother to nourish with the sap of life. It is You that comes as the father to protect with the sweat of the brow. It is You that comes as the friend to befriend in the hour of need. It is You that comes as the bosom companion, the sweetener of life. It is You that comes as knowledge to pour power in man to know Your wonderous Self. It is You that comes as the wherewithal to fulfill the desires that spring eternally in the human breast. Words fail, utterly fail to reveal that You really are unto me, O Lord of all our lords, You are this beggar's All.

असतो मा सद्गमय, तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय |

मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय, आविराविर्म एधि ||

ఆసతో మా సద్గమయ, తమసో మా జ్యోతిర్గమయ |

మృత్యోర్మా అమృతం గమయ ఆవిరావిర్మ ఏధి ||

To You, O Lord! I pray: Lead me on to Your reality, beset as I am with the unreal on all sides. Lead me on to Your Light, blinded as I am by the darkness of ignorance. Lead me on to Your immortality, hemmed in as I am by Death inducing infatuation of mind. Reveal Yourself, O Lord, reveal Yourself unto me.
